MNT-Halan Raises EGP3.4 Billion in Latest Bond Issuance
MNT-Halan, a digital financial services provider, has successfully raised EGP3.4 billion (US$71.4 million) through its seventh securitised bond issuance. This latest round is part of a larger three-year, EGP8 billion (US$168 million) securitisation programme.
The company, which became a unicorn after raising significant funding rounds, most recently a US$49 million corporate bond issuance in May, has seen strong support from institutional investors. These include banks, insurance companies, and international development funds participating in the latest EGP3.4 billion issuance.
MNT-Halan's digital ecosystem offers a range of services, from small and micro business lending to payments, consumer finance, and e-commerce. Since its inception in 2018, the company has disbursed over US$11 billion in loans and served more than 8 million customers globally. Its mission is to digitally bank the unbanked and substitute cash with electronic solutions.
The latest bond issuance brings MNT-Halan's total funding to EGP6.4 billion (US$134.4 million), leaving EGP1.6 billion (US$33.6 million) remaining in its three-year securitisation programme. With strong investor support and a growing customer base, MNT-Halan continues to expand its digital financial services.
