MLS forward Danny Musovski scores twice, propelling Seattle Sounders to victory over LA Galaxy, extending their unbeaten streak to ten games.
Seattle Sounders' 10-Game Unbeaten Streak Ends in Loss to Minnesota United
The Seattle Sounders' impressive run of form came to an end on August 16, 2025, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Minnesota United. This result ended the Sounders' 10-game unbeaten streak, which had seen them win seven matches and draw three, including a dominant 4-0 victory over LA Galaxy.
The Sounders' unbeaten streak was highlighted by their 4-0 win over LA Galaxy on August 11, 2025. In that game, Danny Musovski scored a brace, Snyder Brunell netted his first MLS goal on his debut, and an own goal was forced by Paul Rothrock.
Before the loss to Minnesota, the Sounders had been in excellent form. They had won their previous three matches, including a 3-2 defeat of Real Salt Lake and a 2-0 victory over Portland Timbers.
In the game against Minnesota, the Sounders made several changes to their starting lineup. Kim Kee-hee started in defence, with Jackson Ragen given a break at centre back. In midfield, Ferreira orchestrated the attack in place of Albert Rusnák, who is out with a hamstring injury. The adjustment moved Paul Rothrock to the right wing and kept Pedro de la Vega on the left.
Despite the changes, the Sounders struggled to find their usual rhythm against Minnesota. The Loons took advantage of this, scoring a late goal to secure the victory.
The Sounders will now look to bounce back from this defeat when they travel to play Minnesota United in their next match on Saturday. The two teams will play three matches in 11 days, including a tournament match next Wednesday, as they advanced to the Leagues Cup quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, LA Galaxy are currently struggling at the bottom of MLS's 30-team standings, having lost their last three matches. They will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face FC Dallas on August 20, 2025.
