Caglianone's debut might not have ended with a hit, but his power and potential were as apparent as a neon sign. In fact, four of the five balls he put into play were rocketed at 95.0 mph or beyond. Two of those shots were the hardest-hit balls of the night, emphatic groundouts clocked at 113.9 mph and 112.1 mph[1][3].
The Royals emerged triumphant in a thrilling come-from-behind victory, winning 10-7 over the Cardinals[3]. Although Caglianone didn't record a hit, he made a considerable impression, ranked as MLB's 10th top prospect at the time of his debut[2][3].
