Title: ** Goldie Goes Widget: Bruce Makes His Major League Debut**

Get ready for some four-legged fun at Nationals Park! On Saturday night, Bruce, a goofy, one-year-nine-month-old Golden Retriever, stole the show during their game against the Miami Marlins. Known as "Bat Dog," Bruce has been fetching bats for Washington's Triple-A affiliate, the Rochester Red Wings, but this was his first stint in the big leagues—and boy, did he deliver!

Wearing a bandana with an "MLB debut" patch, Bruce showcased his agility and enthusiasm during a Pups in the Park promotion. After dropping the bat in foul territory, Nationals reliever Zach Brzykcy had the honor of presenting the bat to our furry friend. Bruce, in all his glory, then chased the bat around the field to an ecstatic crowd's delight.

Josh Snyder, Bruce's owner, beamed with pride as he watched his companion entertain the masses. "Look at this dog and try not to smile," said Snyder, donning a No. 25 Nationals jersey with "Bruce" on the nameplate. "He's great. He's goofy. I think he's the perfect candidate for Rochester, the Red Wings, and now the Nationals."

This joyful canine isn't just a bat collector; he's also a fundraiser. Previously working with the Red Wings alongside Snyder's late dog, Milo, Bruce has participated in campaigns to support Rochester's Veterans Outreach Center and Honor Flight of Rochester.

News of Bruce's debut and his collaboration with the Nationals has caused a social media frenzy, generating loads of buzz even before the event. "Social media, everything like that seems like it's seriously blown up, and we love it," says Snyder. "Really good publicity with our goal and our mission of bringing people together. It shows it's just doing that."

Let's root for Bruce as he dives headfirst into his new role with the Nationals! And who knows—maybe we'll see more furry friends joining him on the field soon!

Working for the Nationals, Bruce, the agile and enthusiastic baseball-retrieving Golden Retriever, showcases his skills in a Major League Baseball (MLB) debut during a Pups in the Park promotion. Beyond fetching bats for Washington's Triple-A affiliate, Bruce also contributes to fundraising efforts for military veterans through campaigns with the Rochester Red Wings.
