Missouri sues Pressure STL over illegal THC products targeting minors

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway has filed a lawsuit against Pressure STL for selling illegal THC products. The legal action targets unregulated substances that allegedly resemble popular candies and snacks, raising concerns about their appeal to minors. Hanaway's office is seeking to halt sales and impose penalties for violations of consumer protection laws.

The lawsuit accuses Pressure STL of selling THC products without a licence. It also claims these items exceed the potency limits set by the 2018 Farm Bill and may contain harmful contaminants. The packaging mimics well-known treats, making them attractive to children.

This case is part of a wider crackdown on unregulated THC sales in Missouri. Over the past two years, Hanaway's office has taken legal action against at least 15 other businesses for similar violations. Major retailers, including Smoke Cartel and vape shops in St. Louis and Kansas City, have faced lawsuits for marketing such products to minors.

The broader issue centres on how THC and hemp-derived items are sold. Many lack proper regulation yet are designed to look like everyday snacks, increasing risks for young consumers. The lawsuit highlights the need for stricter oversight in this growing market.

The legal action aims to stop Pressure STL from selling its products and secure civil penalties. If successful, the case could reinforce consumer protections and limit access to unregulated THC items. The outcome may also influence how similar products are marketed and sold across Missouri.
