The Missouri Gaming Commission is gearing up for two crucial meetings next week, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Sept. 24. These meetings come as the Commission prepares to process a total of 1,113 sports betting-related license applications.

Seven additional operators have submitted applications to join the future Missouri sports betting market, bringing the total number of applicants to an impressive figure. However, the names of the seven new operators have not been specified yet.

As of now, only DraftKings and Circa Sports have been awarded sports betting licenses in Missouri. Nine operators have applied for mobile sports betting licenses, but have not yet received them as the market is set to launch on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m.

Each individual team and casino can partner with up to one online sports betting operator. This means that with the potential addition of seven new operators, the competition in the Missouri sports betting market is expected to be fierce.

Each professional sports franchise and land-based casino in Missouri is eligible for one retail and one online sports betting license. This opens up opportunities for a diverse range of businesses to enter the market.

In addition to the operator applications, business applications and Level I Combo Affidavits have also been submitted. The number of L2 employee applications for some of the notable applicants include: BetMGM (300), Underdog Sports (181), Circa Sports (39), Penn Sports Interactive (227), Fanatics (27), Caesars Sportsbook (16), bet365 (166), and Entain Mobitech (10). Stadium Technology Group and Kambi have also submitted L2 employee applications, with 6 and 4 employees respectively.

The deadline for sports betting license applications was Friday, Sept. 12, but the commission will continue to accept applications with a postmark date of Sept. 12. This gives potential applicants a small window of opportunity to join the rapidly growing sports betting market in Missouri.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Missouri Gaming Commission continues to process applications and move closer to the launch of the Missouri sports betting market.
