The image shows a large group of pipes sitting on top of a building, surrounded by machines, railings, vehicles on the road, people, buildings, trees, poles, hills and a clear blue sky. This scene is likely related to the recent news that Mexico's oil and gas industry has been shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mirny's Solnechny Gorod faces prolonged water cuts during pipeline repairs

Residents in Mirny's Solnechny Gorod district have faced repeated cold water supply cuts for more than a week. The ongoing repairs involve crews flushing and cleaning pipelines as well as in-building networks with specialized equipment.

The disruption began after municipal teams started maintenance on the cold water pipelines. Workers must temporarily halt supply while flushing utility lines inside residential blocks and apartment buildings. To ease the impact, local authorities have arranged water deliveries for affected households.

Municipal service representatives have assured residents that repairs will proceed as quickly as possible. The Khabarovsk District administration has also confirmed it will adjust cold water charges for the period of interruption. Similar repairs in other Russian regions typically take between two to six weeks, depending on factors like pipeline length, damage severity, and weather conditions.

Delays can also stem from material shortages, labor availability, bureaucratic approvals, and whether the pipelines are located in urban or rural areas. Crews remain focused on completing the work efficiently to restore normal service.

The repairs will continue until the pipelines and in-building networks meet safety standards. Residents will receive recalculated bills for the disrupted period. Water deliveries will remain available until full service resumes.
