Hiker rescued severely injured after three days - Miracle Rescue: Woman Survives 3 Nights in Ammergau Alps Ditch

A 58-year-old woman from the Starnberg district was found alive but severely injured and hypothermic after spending three nights in a steep ditch off hiking trails in the Ammergau Mountains. The woman, who had gone missing during a hike near the Kramer on Monday, was rescued by mountain rescue services and police on Thursday afternoon.

The woman was last seen hiking in the Kramer area on Monday before she lost contact with her family. A massive search operation involving helicopters from both the mountain rescue service and the police's alpine unit was launched. After three days, she was discovered in a ditch filled with water, suffering from severe hypothermia and serious injuries to her arms and legs. The hiker was rescued and received immediate medical attention.

The woman's rescue comes as a relief after a three-day search. Authorities praised the efforts of the mountain rescue service and police for their perseverance in locating the hiker. Her condition is currently unknown, but she is receiving the necessary medical care.
