The city of Nordhorn is currently undergoing several significant changes, as outlined in the latest developments.
Expansion of Grundschule Stadtflur
The Grundschule Stadtflur is set to expand, transforming into a 4-winged primary school. The school's library will be designed to serve double duty as a differentiation room, and plans should also consider the addition of a stage to enable multifunctional use in the canteen. A structural and organizational solution for the care situation during the fifth hour is also being developed for the expanded school.

Urban Development
The city is tasked with informing residents about the streets that will appear in the budget plan, as well as those who have not yet paid the initial development fees in Nordhorn. An overview map showing which streets have already been billed and which have not will be made available.
The "Bebauungsplan Nr. K 12 a 'Gewerbegebiet Klausheide / North of the B 213'" draft resolution was passed, and the "1. Change of the Bebauungsplan Nr. 15 F 'Residential area-Povel, IV. Building section'" initiation resolution was also passed.
The application for a public toilet facility in the Blank district was approved by the Urban Development Committee (UDC). The documents and corresponding resolutions can be found in the protocol of the UDC from June 20, 2022 here.
Cultural Initiatives
The topic of building a stage between the market square and the city harbor was presented at the last Culture Committee meeting. Meanwhile, the initiative to establish a stage between the marketplace and the city harbor remains without concrete information regarding its origin or success in July 2025.
Additionally, the "120. Change of the land use plan and Bebauungsplan Nr. 91 B 'Camping area Lohesch'" initiation resolutions were passed.
On a different note, the Administrative Committee held its mandatory summer vacation meeting on July 23, 2025. The discussions and voting behavior of the committee members are not publicly accessible according to the law.
