Minnesota United and Real Salt Lake split points in dramatic 1-1 draw

Minnesota United and Real Salt Lake shared the points in a 1-1 draw on Saturday. The match saw two first-time goal scorers, with both sides securing a late equaliser. Despite their unbeaten run against Salt Lake, Minnesota extended their winless streak to four games. Zach Booth opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, netting his first career goal for Minnesota United. The hosts held the lead until stoppage time, when Real Salt Lake responded.

Mauricio González levelled the match with a header, flicking Joaquin Pereyra’s pass inside the back post. The goal marked González’s first in professional football. Minnesota goalkeeper Drake Callender remained untouched, making no saves throughout the game, while Rafael Cabral recorded one stop for Salt Lake.

Kelvin Yeboah was absent from Minnesota’s squad due to an internal team matter. The result leaves Real Salt Lake with a 1-3-2 record on the road this season. The draw keeps Minnesota’s unbeaten streak against Real Salt Lake intact, now spanning six matches. However, the team remains without a win in their last four outings.
