Minister of Sports congratulates an Omsk war worker on her centennial birthday.
Living in Pushkin Settlement since 1968, Veria Sementina celebrated her centennial birthday on May 4, 2025.
Sports Minister of Omsk Region, Alexei Lenberg, announced on Sunday that alongside Andrey Demenkov, the leader of Pushkin Settlement, they had congratulated Veria on her milestone birthday on behalf of Omsk Region Governor, Vitaly Hozenco. She was awarded a commemorative medal for "80 Years of Victory."
Veria shared her life story, which was far from easy. Born in a rural area of the Uljanovsk region, at the age of 15, she left with her father and moved to Kamchatka, where she stayed throughout the war. In the late '60s, she moved to Omsk Oblast and worked as a milkmaid here. She's an incredibly tough person who can serve as an example for us all! She's experienced numerous hardships, but she's still full of energy. In her soul, I wish her good health," -Lenberg stated.
Veria's family, including her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, joined her for the celebration. Local veterans were also present.
