Minions wreak havoc in 1920s Hollywood with Minions & Monsters in 2026
The Minions are returning for their third standalone film, Minions & Monsters, set to hit cinemas on 1 July 2026. This time, the mischievous yellow creatures head to 1920s Hollywood, where they accidentally unleash monsters on the world. The franchise, which has earned over $5.6 billion globally, continues its mix of nostalgia, slapstick humour, and controlled chaos.
The new adventure takes place before the events of the earlier Minions films, with no sign of Gru in the trailer. Instead, the story follows the Minions as they chase monsters through Hollywood while causing their usual brand of mayhem. Their journey also explores how they became unlikely film stars.
Pierre Coffin, the longtime voice of the Minions, will return to direct and provide their iconic chatter. So far, no other actors or voice performers have been confirmed for the monster roles. The franchise has remained a pop culture staple for more than a decade, blending humour with a distinctive visual style.
Minions & Monsters builds on the success of Despicable Me and the Minions spin-offs, which have collectively grossed billions. Fans can expect the same fast-paced antics, now with a fresh setting and a new wave of destruction.
Minions & Monsters arrives in theatres in mid-2026, offering another dose of the Minions' trademark humour. The film's 1920s Hollywood backdrop and monster-themed plot expand the franchise's universe. With Coffin back at the helm, the series looks set to continue its box office dominance.
