Mini-football and basketball court installation planned on Sergei Akimov Street
In the heart of the Kanavino District, a new universal sports facility has been installed on Sergei Akimov Street. The facility, which will be used for mini-football and basketball games, boasts a rubberized surface and a fence with a gate for the safety of children.
The installation of this sports facility is a part of the "You Decide!" project, a participatory budgeting initiative by the governor. Residents of the courtyard actively voted for the playground in 2024, with local resident Elizabeth Gracheva stating that they collected over 1,500 votes for the playground, which surprised and made them very happy.
This sports facility is not the first project to be completed this year in the Kanavino District. The first objects completed this year were an automobile road from the Moscow Highway to the SNT 'Yasnaya Polyana', the improvement of the sports facility at Gymnasium No. 2, the building of a sidewalk near School No. 168, and the repair and improvement of two mini-hockey stadiums at Schools No. 176 and No. 181. All these projects were proposed by the residents themselves and later actively voted for.
Artem Ivanov, the Kanavinsky District Head, visited the site of the new sports facility to check on the progress of the work. The sports facility will also have goals and hoops installed on two sides of the court, making it a universal facility for various sports activities.
As of now, eight objects have been planned for improvement in Kanavino this year, seven of which have already been completed. The Kanavinsky District Head and the residents look forward to the completion of the remaining projects to further enhance the quality of life in the district.
