Minecraft expands with Dungeons 2 and a real-world theme park by 2027
Minecraft fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming years. A sequel to the hit spin-off Minecraft Dungeons is on the way, while plans for the world's first Minecraft theme park have been unveiled. Both projects promise fresh adventures for players and visitors alike.
The sequel, Minecraft Dungeons 2, was officially announced with a trailer at Minecraft Live 2026. Scheduled for release in autumn 2026, the game will introduce new enemies, challenges, and locations. It will launch across Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.
Meanwhile, work has begun on *Minecraft World*, a dedicated theme park set to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027. The groundbreaking event featured popular creators like LDShadowLady, DanTDM, Aimsey, and Grian, who helped shape the park's design for authenticity. Attractions will include a high-speed coaster, interactive adventures, block-themed play areas, and themed shops and restaurants. Elsewhere, *Fortnite* has announced a collaboration with *Game of Thrones* to mark the series' 15th anniversary. Details on the crossover remain limited, but fans can expect in-game content inspired by the fantasy epic.
The Minecraft franchise continues to expand beyond gaming, with Dungeons 2 arriving later this year and a theme park debuting in 2027. Both projects aim to bring the blocky universe to life in new ways, offering experiences for players and visitors. The Fortnite and Game of Thrones tie-in also adds to the growing list of major pop-culture crossovers in gaming.
