Millionaire Contestant Solves Tricky Geography Question
Alexander Krein, a contestant on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?', faced a challenging question at the 32,000 euro hurdle. He was asked to identify the largest state of a country with an area of around 1.6 million square kilometers.
Krein, demonstrating his broad general knowledge, used the phone-a-friend and 50:50 lifelines to aid his decision. After careful consideration, he correctly chose 'B: Amazon' as the answer. The Amazon is indeed the largest state of a country with an area close to 1.6 million square kilometers, belonging to Brazil.
The question was tricky, as no country exists with an area of exactly 1.6 million square kilometers. The largest countries, Russia, Canada, China, and the USA, all have areas much larger than this.
With this correct answer, Alexander Krein moved on to the 64,000 euro question, further proving his extensive knowledge and increasing his chances of becoming a millionaire on the show.
