Winner of the 2025 British National Road Championships Unleashes Unstoppable Sprint!

We had an exhilarating finish at the British National Road Championships in Aberystwyth on Sunday, as Millie Couzens, from Fenix-Deceuninck, outpaced Pfeiffer Georgi and Anna Henderson in an electrifying sprint.

Couzens claimed the elite women's road title and the red, white, and blue jersey, adding it to the victory she snatched in the under-23 women's time trial on Thursday. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the extraordinary few days Couzens has had in west Wales, hailing from Oxfordshire.

The 128km-long race was a nail-biter, with four riders battling it out on the final lap. Georgi, initially looking like the strong contender for her fourth national title given the formidable presence of three Picnic PostNL riders, found herself at the mercy of a powerful group of rivals.

Storrie (Picnic PostNL) and Jess Roberts (Spectra Racing) were two riders who found themselves in the lead pair, initially led by Flora Perkins, a teammate of Couzens. Despite the admirable efforts of a strong group led by the elite women's TT champion, Zoe Bäckstedt (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto), and Cat Ferguson (Movistar), the leaders managed to maintain their distance.

In a thrilling showdown, it came down to Georgi, Nelson, Henderson, and Couzens. As the race returned to the seafront, Nelson led the four out, and Couzens initiated the sprint. With Georgi running out of road and Henderson powering through to third, it was Couzens who claimed the well-deserved victory.

Lauren Dickson, the talented Handsling Alba Development rider, bagged a noteworthy fifth-place finish, winning yet another impressive result in her first full year of racing.
