Miller discusses the nearly realized 'X-Men' horror film he nearly created
Gearin' up for a X-Men comeback on the silver screen, y'all! While we're all eagerly awaiting the deets, ol' Tim Miller reminisced about the near-miss opportunity he had once upon a time. During a chat with the Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool director gushed about Marvel's mutant crew as their "secret weapon" and pitched his dream X-Men movie to Kevin Feige, arguably the kingpin of the Marvel universe.
His proposed film, based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men #143, would have unfolded like a fun mix of Home Alone and Alien. And get this, the story revolves around none other than Kitty Pryde, who'd have to fend off an N'Garai demon on her own during the X-Mansion's holiday bash. Fox apparently loved the concept and even announced the project back in 2018, with Tim set to direct from a script by comics scribe Brian Michael Bendis. (Fun fact: Kitty Pryde was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy back then in Bendis and Valerio Schiti's 2015-2017 run.)
But here's the kicker, the project got mixed up in Fox's merger with Disney, so it was one of the many promising films that didn't pan out. Fox did sneak in some horror vibes with the X-Men franchise through the New Mutants flick, their final franchise movie before they merged dimensions with Disney. Let's hope once the X-things settle down in the MCU, we can get a flavor of the scary stuff all over again.
Tim, the mastermind behind Deadpool, seems content with how things are shaping up. He called himself "the luckiest nerd on the planet" for bringing Deadpool to life on the big screen and couldn't be more thrilled with the success of Terminator: Dark Fate and Love Death + Robots. So, even though he's seen quite a few credits roll by now, our boy ain't ready to call it a day yet[1][2][3][4].

Tim Miller, known for his work on Deadpool, expressed excitement about the potential of bringing Kitty Pryde's solo X-Men adventure to life, envisioning a blend of Home Alone and Alien set during a holiday bash at the X-Mansion. However, the project was affected by Fox's merger with Disney, leaving the future of the X-Men's interstellar encounters and AI-laced entertainment in the hands of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Streaming services offer a vast library of movies-and-tv, including the Star Wars saga and the upcoming Disney+ series, making it easier than ever to stay immersed in the realm of science fiction and fantasy.
