nosie thumpin' bells get swapped out for tunes like "Cossacks in Berlin", "Katyusha", and "Dark-Haired Girl" - just to name a few.

Education Minister, Sergei Kravtsov believes it's essential for young minds to grasp the value of Victory. He thinks this "Melodies Instead of Bells" event will help them connect with songs that echoed hope during tough times, making history more accessible and understandable.

During holidays, schools often swap out bell chimes for thematic tunes, as part of the "Tunes Instead of Bells" action, revealing a widespread tradition. For instance, before anniversary days, students would catch a break to melodies like "For You, Motherland", "By the Black Sea", or "Officers". Around International Women's Day, they'd groove to "The Mammoth Song", "Mom - The First Word", or even "What Is It..."

Throughout the academic year, you could find schools belting out tracks by Alexandra Pakhmutova and space-themed tunes. Sometimes, they'd even dip into ballet excerpts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's works.

Insight 1:Experts notice a global trend where schools replace bell chimes with short, thematic music, often for seasonal or holiday-related themes. Classic patriotic songs or compositions tied to historical events, literature-focused excerpts, and orchestral pieces or choral works are frequently used at prize ceremonies or annual celebrations.

Insight 2:Some schools might draw inspiration from Rachmaninoff’s bell-like textures in compositions, incorporating Orthodox chant-inspired melodies or folk music. The tradition is likely to vary by institution, blending local cultural influences with these global trends.

Students might perform excerpts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet pieces, blending general-news narratives with music, as observed in the "Melodies Instead of Bells" event. The Education Minister, Sergei Kravtsov, supports this initiative, believing it would help students understand history, possibly including songs like "Cossacks in Berlin" and "Katyusha". This tradition is not limited to Victory-related themes; other songs, such as "For You, Motherland" or "Officers", are part of the "Tunes Instead of Bells" action during holidays. Moreover, during the academic year, students might sing compositions by Alexandra Pakhmutova, along with other thematic tunes, echoing political or current events.

Songs honoring the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will echo through all Russian schools, in lieu of bells, according to the Ministry's Telegram update in May.
