Military Transport Truck Delivery 4: Army and Homefront Unity Symbol
In a show of solidarity and support, communities in Vladivostok and Artem, Russia, have come together for a large-scale humanitarian aid collection aimed at assisting Primorye warriors involved in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The initiative, driven by local volunteers and public figures, has garnered significant backing from regional authorities and various organisations. The collection is a testament to the regional pride and unity with the military personnel stationed or hailing from the Primorye region, particularly in light of the recent loss of Major General Mikhail Gudkov, the deputy head of Russia's Navy, who was killed in a Ukrainian missile attack while performing his military duties along the border.
The aid, totalling 21 tons, includes a diverse range of essential items to cater to the needs of the troops. Medications, camouflage nets, tools, saws, raincoats, air mattresses, boats, and even boats have been donated by individuals and organisations. Notably, the TOS "Zhigura" and its residents have contributed generously, as has the large company "Dobroflot" with a significant donation of seafood conserves.
Students from Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy and other educational institutions in the city have also joined the effort, collecting drugs and dressing materials for the soldiers. Deputies from the Vladivostok City Duma, including Andrei Brick, Alexander Yurtayev, Eugene Nedbay, Vyacheslav Glushko, Daria Gritsenko, Semen Polechuk, Stanislav Primachenko, and Gennady Smirnov, have actively participated in the collection, contributing to the purchase of transport vehicles, computers, and special equipment.
The collection has also received support from Artem City, with Vyacheslav Kvun, the head of Artem City, pledging his backing. Notable contributors include the secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party, Artem Volodin, and Konstantin Shestakov, the head of the Far Eastern Federal District capital, who have both participated in the aid collection.
In addition, regional Orthodox parishes, "silver volunteers," the Primorye Boxing Federation, and Svetlana Morozova, the chairperson of the Primorye and Vladivostok honorary citizens' council, have collaborated to pack the fourth truck for the aid collection. This collaborative effort underscores the communal spirit driving the aid collection, which seeks to improve the conditions and morale of the troops in Vladivostok and Artem.
