Thailand's foremost energy firm and telecom operator, Gulf Development Plc, has contributed 100 million baht to the Royal Thai Army. This donation aims to support soldiers wounded or the families of those who unfortunately lost their lives in the border clash with Cambodia.

Gulf Development Plc Donates 100 Million Baht to Support Soldiers Affected by Border Conflict

Gulf Development Plc, a leading Thai energy company and telecom operator, has donated 100 million baht to the Royal Thai Army to assist soldiers injured or the families of those killed in the ongoing border conflict with Cambodia.

The donation was officially made at Army Headquarters to Gen Pana Klaewplodthuk and Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang, the Commander-in-Chief and the Commander of the Second Army Region respectively. The CEO of Gulf Development, Sarath Ratanavadi, emphasized the company's commitment to stand with those protecting the nation.

Mr. Sarath's personal connection to the military influenced the donation, as his father served in the armed forces. He stated that the donated funds are for the families of those who were killed or seriously wounded. A committee will be formed to ensure the donated funds are used transparently and effectively in line with Gulf Development's intentions.

In addition to the financial aid, Gulf Development continues community outreach under its GULF Care programme. This includes delivering over 2,000 relief kits to soldiers and civilians affected by the border tensions in provinces like Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani. The company also contributed 1.2 million baht specifically for soldiers injured by landmines during patrols in Ubon Ratchathani province.

Telecommunications subsidiaries, AIS and Thaicom, have enhanced 4G/5G signals and satellite technology to improve security personnel communication in affected areas.

Mr. Sarath encouraged Thais to contribute however they can to support national sovereignty and the welfare of frontline defenders. The Royal Thai Army has shown appreciation for the donation and plans to establish a committee for transparent and effective fund management aligned with Gulf Development's intentions.

The Gulf Development Plc’s donation is intended to help the families recover and rebuild their lives with dignity, improve the quality of life, and provide moral support to the affected soldiers and their families.
