The picturesque town of Talsi in Latvia is gearing up for a grand event on May 4, 2025, as it hosts the annual military parade. This traditional regional parade is a significant part of Latvia's military calendar, although the exact route, schedule, and participating military forces have yet to be announced.

The day's activities commence early, with a church service at the Talsi Evangelical Lutheran Church at 9:00 a.m. The military parade itself starts at 11:00 a.m., with the marching units moving from the intersection of Liela and Brīvības Streets, along Brīvības Street, and ending at the CSDD parking lot. The parade route includes Fabrikas Street, Liela Street, Raina Street, Rīgas Street, and the Talsi motor transport parking lot.

The parade, under the motto "May 4 - Freedom Day", has been a yearly tradition since 2012, providing an opportunity for those who cannot attend the traditional independence day parade on November 18 in Rīga to meet the National Armed Forces.

In addition to the parade, visitors can enjoy various demonstrations by the National Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior units, and even dog handlers from the State Border Guard and Military Police. These demonstrations will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a fascinating insight into the workings of these vital services.

On May 3rd at 2:00 PM, a free festive concert by the National Armed Forces Naval Orchestra will take place at the Talsi Culture Center. The concert is a great opportunity to enjoy some live music and get into the festive spirit.

The day's events also include a friendly football match between allied soldiers and Talsi County Municipality teams, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on the Talsi State Gymnasium Square.

For those interested in local crafts, a market is planned on Zvaigžņu Street. Meanwhile, the annual Dragon Festival organized by the Talsi County Children and Youth Center will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dzirnavkalns.

The Latvian Air Force AN-2 aircraft will perform a flyover, creating a red-white-red smoke trail. The flyover will also feature the National Armed Forces UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, Latvian State Border Guard A-119 and A-109, US Army Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook twin-rotor helicopters, Canadian Armed Forces CH-146, Polish F-16 fighters, and two US Apache attack helicopters.

As the date approaches, official announcements from the Latvian Defence Ministry and the Talsi municipality are expected to provide more detailed information about the parade, including timings, route maps, and participants. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to check these official sources.

The city where the parade will be held next year will be announced during this year's May 4 parade, making it an exciting event for both Talsi and the wider region. Whether you're a military enthusiast or simply looking for a fun day out, the Talsi military parade on May 4, 2025, promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Youth can enjoy an exciting sports event, as a friendly football match between allied soldiers and Talsi County Municipality teams will take place at the Talsi State Gymnasium Square on May 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.
