Arrived in Los Angeles: Trump-deployed National Guard Units - Military forces under Trump's command deployed to Los Angeles.

Camoflauged National Guard troops, tactical headgear, and assault rifles were spotted around a federal building complex in the heart of LA. The structure in question, housing a detainment center, bore the graffiti of "Our City".

Calls for protests continue, with Sunday evening (23:00 UTC) scheduled for another demonstration outside the city hall, aiming for a "community uprising".

Prez Trump had earlier mandated a 2000-strong army of National Guard troops. His spokesperson, K-Dawg (Karoline Leavitt), justified this action, citing the need to tackle "the rioting rampant in the streets".

However, Gavin Newsom, CA's Democratic Governor, slammed this decision as an unlawful power grab by the President. Newsom alleged, "Trump's making a spectacle of it to implement more immigration raids, ushering fear and control". He urged city dwellers to "keep their cool, avoid violence, maintain peace".

On Friday and Saturday, heated skirmishes erupted between feds and protestors following immigration raids in which armed, faceless federal agents charged against migrants. The feds countersued with flash-bangs and tear gas, nabbing several agitators.

On Sunday morning, skirmishes unfurled in the Compton 'hood, leaving the scent of pepper spray behind, as reported by AFP journos.

Trump's act bypasses local governance, delegating power usually earmarked for natural disasters or riots - like the one after the George Floyd debacle in 2020.

Kenneth Roth, former head of Human Rights Watch, weighed in during a X-cast, claiming this is the first unrequested state deployment of the National Guard since 1965. Roth accused Trump of using a phony law enforcement show to step up immigration raids.
