Slap bang in the middle of April, Billy Ray Cyrus (63, y'all!) and Elizabeth Hurley (59), everybody knows 'em) shocked the world by announcing their romantic involvement. So, what's the dirt on Miley Cyrus (32, baby girl)? She's been super chill about her old man hooking up with the lovely Ms. Hurley, following their split from her mom, Tish Cyrus (58).
In an interview with The New York Times, Miley dished on how she's coping with her parents finding new love. She confessed, "Initially, it's tough because the kid in you reacts before the grown-up in you can step in and say, 'Hey, that's your dad, but he's a person too who deserves to find happiness.'"
Luckily, her inner kid is growing up faster than you can say "Wrecking Ball". Miley has since learned to view her parents as individuals instead of just, y'know, parents. Her mom has been head over heels for Billy Ray "forever", according to Miley. "I took on a good chunk of my mom's heartache when it hurt her more than it did me," admits Miley. "So I took on her pain like it was my own."
However, now that Tish is head-over-heels with her new man (shout out to Dominic Purcell, 55, smart dude) and Billy Ray is finding his own happiness, Miley can see her parents as humans with feelings, not just as a duo. "I'm handling it like an adult," Miley says with a smile.
Tish and Billy Ray tied the knot in 1993 and split in 2022, but the Blast from the Past then jumped the broom with another lady called Firerose. Hurley and Billy Ray made their relationship official in a cute Easter Sunday Instagram post in April 2025, leaving fans scratching their heads and wondering where this had been simmering.
