Miley Cyrus is set to unveil her ninth studio album, titled "Something Beautiful," later this week, marking a new experimental chapter in the artist's career.
At a private event held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on May 27, Cyrus, along with TikTok, treated a select group of fans to a special listening party. During the event, she performed several tracks from her upcoming album and hinted at her next project.
The "Flowers" hitmaker captivated attendees, including her mother, Tish Cyrus, her sister, Brandi Cyrus, and Anya Taylor-Joy, with her album's previews. However, the surprise didn't end with the album; Cyrus also performed some of her fan-favorite tracks, such as "End of the World," "More to Lose," "Easy Lover," "Flowers," and "The Climb."
According to Billboard, the Grammy winner revealed that her latest album is merely "an appetizer" for her "next album," which she described as "extremely experimental." After her performance with her band, including drummer boyfriend Maxx Morando, guitarist Jonathan Rado, and pianist Michael Pollack, Cyrus expressed that this album is a reflection of her life and current experiences.
Following the intimate gathering, Cyrus expressed her gratitude on Instagram, saying, "Last night at the Chateau Marmont was special. Every Smiler in the room was handpicked, and it meant the world to hear you all singing along to new and unreleased music. Thank you for being there, last night really was Something Beautiful."
"Something Beautiful" is set for release on May 30, 2025, under Columbia Records. The album will also debut as a full visual film at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, followed by nationwide theatrical screenings from June 12. The project collaborates with Shawn Everett, Brittany Howard, Naomi Campbell, and a variety of session musicians, resulting in a rich, layered sound.
Cyrus describes her ninth studio album as "introspective, sonically adventurous, and emotionally grounded," blending various genres and featuring an innovative production approach.
