In a recent chat with The New York Times, Miley Cyrus's putting l Dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, gossip to bed. The 32-year-old vocalist shared that she and her pops are cordial and have moved past the ups and downs.
"Dating back to when I was younger, I associated my parents primarily as mom and dad. But as I've grown older, I appreciate them for who they are as individuals rather than just as parents," the Wrecking Ball singer explained.
"My mom loved my old man for her whole life, and being married to someone in the music industry and not being part of it comes with its challenges. So, I think I took on some of my mom's pain as my own, but now that my mom is so in love with her new partner, and my dad is happy too, I can accept them both as people instead of as a pair," she added.
"I'm maturing and learning to be an adult about these things. At first, it's hard because the little kid in me reacts before the grown-up me can, but I've grown past that," she concluded.
