Milan has terminated the coaching position of Sergio Conceição.

Italian football club AC Milan announced on Thursday the departure of Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição, thanking him for his professionalism and dedication during his tenure. Conceição, 50, assumed the head coach role on December 30, succeeding fellow countryman Paulo Fonseca, and signed a contract extending until June 2026.

Upon taking the helm, Conceição led the 'Milan' side to victory in the Italian Super Cup, beating Inter Milan 3-2 in the final. Regrettably, in the league, the former Porto coach failed to propel Milan beyond eighth place, their position at the time of his arrival. This disappointing league performance culminated in a loss in the Italian Cup final against Bologna.

According to Italian media, Massimiliano Allegri is expected to be appointed as Milan's next head coach. Allegri previously managed Milan between 2010 and 2014, leading the team to a Serie A title in 2011. The upcoming coach agreement, presumed to span two years with an option for a third year, is estimated to be worth approximately €5 million annually, plus bonuses. Despite the impending agreement, Allegri will reportedly miss his first game in charge due to a ban.

Allegri, renowned for his successful tenure with Milan in football, previously led the team to a Serie-A title back in 2011.
