Holtz, also known by his nickname "Brock Lesnar" in the poker world, battled thousands of players for twelve months to grab the top spot on the leaderboard. His victory was rewarded with an exclusive ring and $10,000 in cash.
The WSOP.com Player of the Year leaderboard was based on points awarded in scheduled multi-table tournaments between January 1st and December 31st, 2021. Tournaments included in the leaderboard were single-table, multi-table, heads-up, satellite SitnGo tournaments, except for Ladies Only events.
Holtz topped the leaderboard with an impressive 84,095.07 points, outperforming other notable players such as Krista "Pollux" Gifford who came in second place with 69,381.14 points, and Christopher "Basile28" Basile who ranked third with 55,894.93 points.

Anthony "boom81boom" Chin ranked ninth with 49,715.63 points, while Jonathan "Art.Vandelay" Dokler rounded out the top ten with 49,554.33 points.
Holtz's journey to poker stardom began at a Tuesday night home game, where he built his bankroll and rekindled his love for the game. He was later asked to play poker by a co-worker while working at a hotel, and eventually saved $50,000 from a poker game to move to Las Vegas and pursue his poker career.
Holtz, who hails from Washington D.C., is also known for his role as a co-host for the PokerNews Podcast alongside Chad Holloway and Kyna England, where he provides expert analysis and coverage of the World Series of Poker events. His prominence as a WSOP online player of the year and bracelet winner, combined with his commentary role on a leading poker podcast, solidifies his profile in the poker world.
With his victory in the WSOP.com Player of the Year 2021, Holtz now follows in the footsteps of WSOP.com Player of the Year 2020, YK Kwon.
Esports and sports share a competitive spirit as Holtz, the WSOP.com Player of the Year 2021, battled thousands of players for twelve months, similar to athletes striving for championships in traditional sports.
