Mihambo and Ogunleye Kick Off at ISTAF Indoor in Düsseldorf - Mihambo and Ogunleye headline Düsseldorf’s ISTAF Indoor 2026 comeback
The ISTAF Indoor athletics event in Düsseldorf is set to return on January 24, 2026, with a star-studded lineup featuring Malaika Mihambo and Yemisi Ogunleye. Both athletes have made their mark in previous editions and will compete in their respective disciplines.
Malaika Mihambo, a regular at the ISTAF Indoor since its start in 2021, will participate in the long jump event. She has won four out of five meets and is a formidable competitor, having secured eight German indoor titles and a silver and bronze at the European Indoor Championships. In the recent ISTAF Indoor event on February 9, 2025, Mihambo showcased her skills in the main event.
Yemisi Ogunleye, who has previously won the women’s shot put debut competition in Düsseldorf, will return to compete in the same event. She has proven her mettle on the international stage, winning silver medals at the 2024 World Indoor Championships and the 2025 European Indoor Championships.
The ISTAF Indoor event in Düsseldorf will feature eight disciplines, including the 60 meters, 60 meters Para, 60-meter hurdles, long jump, shot put, and pole vault for both women and men.
