Migrants Stranded Captured in BPOLI EBB Operation
In an evening raid on August 25, 2025, the Federal Police in Bautzen, Germany, apprehended a group of six Afghans at the local train station. The individuals, who could not provide any documents legitimising their stay in Germany, were found to have entered the country illegally, brought in by unknown smugglers across the German-Polish border.
The apprehension took place at the Bautzen train station. The Federal Police, responsible for the operation, initiated investigations for the smuggling of foreigners, illegal entry, and illegal residence. The six men, aged between 16 and 26, were taken into custody and handed over to a reception facility or the youth welfare office.
According to Alfred Klaner, the press spokesperson for the Bundespolizeiinspektion (Federal Police Inspection) in Ebersbach, the Afghans had purchased invalid train tickets to Dresden at the Görlitzer station. As a result, they had to leave the train in Bautzen. One of the men was subsequently returned to Poland.
