In a recent development, the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf has launched an investigation following the detention of ten migrants in Goerlitz, Germany. According to a report by news aktuell, the incident occurred on Sunday evening.

The events unfolded at Goerlitz station, where officers noticed an African woman and man among the group. Investigations have since been initiated against an Eritrean suspect for the suspected act of smuggling. Another African woman and man were also present on the platform at the same time.

Two Moroccans (ages 20 and 24) and two Somalis (ages 14 and 25) were among those taken into custody. Three adult migrants were sent back to Poland later that afternoon, while the minor was handed over to the Goerlitz youth welfare office.

One Eritrean (age 30) was arrested, while the Ethiopian women (both 25 years old) and four Eritreans (ages 25, 27, 27, 31) were taken into custody. The 30-year-old suspect, living in Cottbus, is currently being questioned by authorities and is under investigation for his suspected involvement in the illegal entry of the six apprehended individuals from African countries.

The six alleged smuggled individuals are still at the Goerlitz station, facing potential deportation to Poland. The director of the Bundespolizeidirektion Ludwigsdorf, Police Director Mr. Töteberg, is overseeing the investigation.
