Breaking News: Iranian Attacks Injure 23 in Haifa, Israel
Middle of Haifa Struck by Iranian Missile Leaves 23 Casualties
The recent barrage of rockets from Iran has hit civilian targets in Israel, leaving 23 people injured - three critically - and one death due to a heart attack during a rocket alert in northern Israel.
A 16-year-old boy, two men, and a 51-year-old woman are among the injured. The critical cases were caused by shrapnel wounds, while the rest of the injuries are minor. Reports suggest that the attacks occurred in the coastal city of Haifa, damaging several buildings and the city streets.
Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar confirms that a mosque in Haifa was also hit, causing injury to clerics who were inside. Videos from Saar show damage to the building. Air defense systems were deployed to intercept more incoming ballistic missiles, and residents were instructed to take shelter during the alarms.
Contrary to rumors, preliminary reports indicate that schools were not among the targeted civilian areas. While a military intelligence school was attacked earlier - on June 17 - there are no indications of civilian schools being hit in recent attacks.
As the situation continues to unfold, more updates will be provided.
