German Leadership Stands by Israel Amidst Criticism

Berlin - Amidst the tumultuous events unfolding in the Gaza Strip, Germany's Union faction has refused to halt arms deliveries to Israel, despite mounting criticism. During a meeting on Monday, the faction's leadership, alongside Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU), agreed that criticism "among friends" ought to be directed towards Israel. Steffen Bilger, the Parliamentary Business Manager, elaborated, "However, what is off the table for now are further consequences, such as reconsidering arms deliveries or imposing sanctions."

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) further emphasized, "Our national interest towards Israel forms our guiding principle."
