Microsoft again significantly boosts revenue and profit - Microsoft, Apple Reach $4 Trillion Market Cap, Nvidia Leads at $5 Trillion
In a significant development, Microsoft and Apple have both reached a market capitalization of around $4 trillion, closely trailing Nvidia stock which leads at approximately $5 trillion. Microsoft's latest financial report reveals impressive growth.
Microsoft's revenue surged by 18% year-over-year to $77.7 billion (€67 billion) in the quarter ending September. This remarkable growth places Microsoft among the world's most valuable companies, with a market capitalization of around $4 trillion, on par with Apple. Currently, the top three spots are held by Nvidia stock at approximately $5 trillion, followed by Apple and Microsoft at around $4 trillion each.
Following the announcement, Microsoft's stock initially dipped by nearly 5% in after-hours trading. However, the decline later narrowed to 2%. Meanwhile, Nvidia, the biggest beneficiary of the AI boom, became the first company to surpass the $5 trillion mark in market value. Microsoft also saw its net profit rise by nearly 12% to just under $28 billion in the same quarter.
Microsoft's impressive financial performance, along with Apple's, has brought them to the forefront of the world's most valuable companies. Nvidia stock, however, leads the pack with a market capitalization of approximately $5 trillion.
