Jake Garcia Joins Michigan QB Battle

Say hello to Jake Garcia, the former college football quarterback who's been a transfer savvy in the game. After stints at Miami, Missouri, and East Carolina, it looks like he's found a new home at the University of Michigan.

This week, the QB hopped aboard the Wolverine train, according to CBS Sports. With his college eligibility on the line, Garcia is eyeing his fifth and final season in the NCAA, potentially landing a spot alongside fresh faces Bryce Underwood, Mikey Keene, and Jadyn Davis.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and tipping the scales at 203 pounds, Garcia hasn't had an easy road to reach the Michigan turf. In 2024, after arriving at East Carolina, he did some decent work, passing for 1,426 yards and scoring eight touchdowns. Unfortunately, his time with the Pirates was short-lived, as he tossed 12 picky interceptions in just six games, getting benched mid-season.

His professional journey started at Miami in 2021-22, where he racked up 950 yards, tossing seven TDs against four picks. But his tenure at Missouri remained uneventful during the 2023 season, as he saw zero game action.

It's safe to say that the Michigan quarterback competition just got a whole lot freakin' interesting with the arrival of Garcia, ready to make a comeback and prove himself in Ann Arbor. So let’s lock fingers and root for some serious on-field drama! 💔💪🏈
