The Citizens' Shooting and Home Association (BSV) in Harsewinkel, Germany, recently celebrated its annual festival, with a special focus on honouring long-standing members who have been part of the association for significant milestone years.
Members such as Erich Berbalk, Reinhard Ellebracht, Dietmar Hackfort, August Lanwehr, Willi Mense, Fritz Mensing, Bernhard Ströer, and Josef Zurbrüggen have been members for an impressive 65 years, while Niclas Amsbeck, Thorsten Amsbeck, Tim Amsbeck, Martin Hartmann, Simone Heitmann, Helga Kordein, Jan Kuznik, Markus Theis, and Robert Wolharn joined the BSV 25 years ago.
Franz Ahlke, Franz-Josef Alke, Erika Amsbeck, Antonius Berheide, Monika Bockholt, Angelika Hanhart, Willi Hollensett, Klaus Kanne, Hildegard Kleine, Friedhelm Schmitz, Mechtild and Lothar Schörnick, and Friedhelm Schulze are among those celebrating 50 years of membership.
Jürgen Blumenthal, Hermann Claas, Birgit Daut, Sven Hansen, Jürgen Hasse, Udo Hemmelgarn, Andreas Hinrich, Maria Hübner, Walter Hüwe, Günter Instenberg, Willi Knobbe, Dieter Kreuzer, Norbert Loddemann, Anne Poppenborg, Reinhold Pumpe, Bernhard Schlöpker, Kirsten Strotmann, Dirk Terlutter, and Michael Wibbelt joined the BSV in 1985. Horst Elbeshausen and Werner Ellebracht have been members for 60 years.
In addition to the long-standing member celebrations, the festival also featured the crowning of the new junior shooting king and queen. Michelle Pfeifer has become the new junior shooting queen with the 124th shot, while Julia Ellebracht has won the title of King of Kings this year.
The festival took place on Friday evening at the ZOB, with DJ Steven ensuring a fantastic atmosphere for all guests. The GTown Rock Orchestra performed, enthralling the guests with their music.
Lars Rugge, the brother master of the shooting brotherhood of Clarholz-Heerde, was the keynote speaker at the festival. He discussed the importance of beer to shooters, as well as the challenges of social cohesion and the changes brought about by social media.
Manuel Behr, Marie Theres Lotzer, Tobias Ransmayr, Rebecca Wöstheinrich, Sven Instenberg, and Sophie Glasenapp are part of the newly formed throne society, with Hannes Kozlik and Philipp Merschman serving as adjutants.
The Marienfelder junior shooters have won the victory in the town this year, adding to the festive atmosphere of the BSV annual festival.
