Michael Block Secures Return to PGA Tour Following Victorious Performance
Michael Block, a PGA professional, has returned to the PGA Tour following his latest victory at the Southern California PGA Championship (SCPGA). The event was staged at the Arnold Palmer Course at Mission Hills Country Club and the South Course at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert.
With his win, Block secured a spot in the Monday qualifier for the World Wide Technology Championship, scheduled for November. This will mark his sixth appearance at the American Express tournament, with the first one set for January 2026 at La Quinta Country Club.
Block's fame and PGA Tour appearances have increased significantly in the last few years. His victory at the SCPGA Championship was his fifth, and he clinched it by a comfortable four-shot margin. Block shot an impressive 63-66-71 to secure the title.
The Southern California PGA Championship attracted approximately 186 PGA professionals. Block's best result in a major tournament came at the Australian Open, where he finished in a tie for 27th place.
Following his top 15 finish at the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, Block received a flurry of PGA Tour invites. He went on to play in the Charles Schwab Challenge, RBC Canadian Open, and World Wide Technology Championship that year.
However, invites have dried up a bit since then, and he played in just the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial this year, along with the PGA Championship. Despite this, Block remains optimistic and is set to return to the PGA Tour circuit as early as November for the Fall Series event at El Cardonal at Diamante Cabo San Lucas.
Block's PGA Championship round included a hole-in-one playing alongside Rory McIlroy, adding an extra special moment to his already impressive career. The first prize for winning the SCPGA Championship was $15,000 for Block.
In 2023, Block also played in the Asian Tour's International Series England, and he is set to participate in more tournaments as he continues to make his mark on the PGA Tour. Block will definitely be back for his 35th PGA Tour event at the American Express next year.
