Orange Crush:Established in the heart of adrenaline, the team named Orange Crush first roared to life in the summer of 2018. A trio of Naruto runners, Ali Criss, Trevor Gibbs, and Kevin Haugh, came together to create this fierce squad. As of January 2019, the powerhouse lineup evolved with the addition of Dillon Golnick, still involving Trevor Gibbs and the ever-persistent Kevin Haugh.
The team understood the importance of unity and a solid training schedule, so they added Meredith Rydalch as their official alternate and resident videographer. Orange Crush frequently gathers at the action-packed drop zone, Skydive Orange, hosting a slew of tunnel events such as huck jams and scrambles.
Awards and Feats
This accomplished trio dazzled the indoor competition circuit with their wins. At the 2018 Nationals, they claimed the 5th spot in the Advanced MFS category. Additionally, all team members were part of the 2018 Virginia Head Down Record.
Future Direction
The goals of Orange Crush are as clear as the air they traverse. They strive to have a blast, improve, and excel while flying, aiming to top their performance at last year's Nationals. These sky-savvy athletes are committed to enhancing the free flying scene and skill set in the Virginia region by organizing skills camps, both indoors and outdoors.
The Heroes Behind the Heroes
Kevin "Iron Man" Haugh
A determined marine and ardent skydiver since 2011, Kevin Haugh has made Skydive Orange his home. At the drop zone, you can find him aiding with AFF, tandems, and video, occasionally coaching interested canopy pilots. What drew him to Virginia? The unparalleled "family-feel" of the drop zone, of course!
Meredith "Steelheart" Rydalch
An Air Force Engineer, Meredith Rydalch has skydived with the prestigious Wings of Blue parachute team since 2012. Skydive Orange secured her loyalty due to the diverse range of talents and the exceptional people that drew her here.
Dillon "The Voidmaster" Golnick
The fearless lead instructor at iFLY Loudon, Dillon Golnick made his first jump in 2012. Coaching many Skydive Orange jumpers in the wind tunnel and regularly organizing Orange Crush tunnel events is his forte. Lured by a variety of factors such as killer boogies, a staff that knows how to party, and an orange cat, Dillon finds peace at Skydive Orange.
Trevor "Shadow" Gibbs
As the General Manager of iFLY Loudon, Trevor Gibbs ventured into the skies for the first time in 2008. His skydiving career took off rapidly, landing him jobs at iFly Orlando and iFly Austin, where he honed his skills and participated in multiple head-down camps. Trevor's dedication to Skydive Orange and the Virgina skydiving community is evident by the doubling in size of the head-down record since joining. He is intent on earning his coach rating and aims to continue to lead the skydiving scene in Virginia with passion and persistence.
