Mexican forces dismantle three hidden drug labs in major crackdown
Mexican authorities have dismantled three clandestine drug labs in a coordinated operation across three states. The raids targeted facilities in Durango, Sinaloa, and Michoacán, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of chemicals and equipment. Multiple security agencies worked together to disrupt organised crime networks.
The operation involved personnel from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), and the National Guard (GN). The Mexican Navy led the effort, locating and shutting down the labs.
In Sinaloa, authorities confiscated 750 kilograms of finished product, along with 1,150 litres and 695 kilograms of chemical precursors. Another lab in Durango yielded 1,150 litres and 695 kilograms of the same materials.
Michoacán saw the seizure of 9,700 litres and 500 kilograms of chemical precursors, as well as laboratory equipment and tools. The destruction of these labs removes key production sites used by criminal groups.
The operation weakens the logistical networks of organised crime. By removing these labs, authorities have prevented large quantities of illicit substances from reaching the public. The seizures mark a direct disruption to drug production and distribution chains.
