Meteorological advisory issues severe heat alert, predicting temperatures up to 34 degrees
Forecast for Berlin and Brandenburg: Mild Temperatures and Potential Thunderstorms This Week
Berlin and Brandenburg residents can expect mild temperatures for the next few days, with no extreme heatwave conditions in sight, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).
On Wednesday, August 26, temperatures will reach a high of 31 to 34 degrees Celsius under mostly clear skies. The day will start off cooler, with temperatures ranging from 14 to 15 degrees in the morning, warming up to 22 to 23 degrees by mid-afternoon. Rain chances are minimal, with visibility remaining good throughout the day.
Thursday, August 27, will see a slight cooling trend, with temperatures hovering around 17 to 19 degrees. The weather will remain sunny. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 19 to 13 degrees, according to DWD.
On Friday, August 28, temperatures will rise further, with highs of 32 to 37 degrees expected. However, clouds will move in, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. Overnight temperatures will drop to between 16 and 21 degrees.
It's worth noting that no heat warning is currently in effect for Friday in Berlin and western parts of Brandenburg. Contrary to severe heatwaves experienced earlier in 2025 across parts of Europe, the summer of 2025 in Germany has generally seen limited sunshine and moderate temperatures.
This forecast aligns with the DWD's report that temperatures will remain above 30 degrees Celsius for the rest of the week. However, the temperatures on Thursday will be hotter than on Wednesday.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions to stay cool, especially during the hotter parts of the day.
The upcoming week's weather forecast for Berlin and Brandenburg indicates mild temperatures, potentially rising to 37 degrees Celsius by Friday, although Thursday might be slightly hotter. Weather-forecasting by the German Weather Service (DWD) also predicts the possibility of thunderstorms on Friday.
