Metal vocalist reveals antics Meat Loaf might not have undertaken in the name of love
Killswitch Engage Announces European Tour and New Album
Renowned metalcore band Killswitch Engage has announced a European tour, set to take place from September to December, with support from Decapitated, Hatebreed, Fit For An Autopsy, and Employed To Serve. The tour will visit several major cities across the continent, including Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Zurich, Paris, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff, Leeds, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Cologne, Ludwigsburg, Berlin, Prague, Leipzig, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki.
The tour comes in support of Killswitch Engage's latest album, This Consequence, which was released in February 2022. The album was met with critical acclaim, with Metal Hammer awarding it four stars out of five. In his review, journalist Stephen Hill praised Jesse Leach's positive core and desire for solidarity, describing the album as unquestionably the hardest, often darkest, and most frenzied in some time.
Meanwhile, Jesse Leach has been making headlines for a conversation with Metal Hammer, which will be available in issue 404, coming out next Thursday, August 14. In the interview, Leach discusses various topics, including the importance of family and loyalty.
Interestingly, Leach's comments about family resonate with Meat Loaf, the iconic rock singer who passed away in 2022 at the age of 74. Meat Loaf's daughter Pearl is married to Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, and it was revealed that Meat Loaf held a very strong stance against betraying family. Pearl Aday shared that her father considered such betrayal as something that would "rip him apart."
Meat Loaf's legacy lives on, with his hit song "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" marking his first-ever UK number-one hit when it was released in August 1993. The song has since been certified Platinum in the UK, the United States, and five other countries.
Killswitch Engage's biggest non-festival UK headline show to date will be at London's OVO Wembley Arena on October 17, with the tour also including a show at London's 12,500-capacity Wembley Arena on the same date. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, August 12.
In addition, the tour dates for Killswitch Engage's 2025 European tour have been announced, with the band set to return to the continent for another run of shows. Fans can look forward to more music and live performances from the band in the coming years.
