"Metal Gear tune inadvertently overlooked: creator oblivious to its viral status due to lack of information"
Turn Up the Volume on a Decade-Old Banger
Hey there, pal! Got a tidbit I stumbled upon that might tickle your fancy: Jason Charles Miller, the lead vocalist of Godhead and the voice behind Final Fantasy 14's stunning tracks like To the Edge, Close in the Distance, and Unleashed from the Arcadion raid tier, also lends his pipes to Rules of Nature from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Yup, that's right - the bloke behind that iconic track from a game I haven't played (but who am I to judge, eh?).
Now listen, Rules of Nature is a freakin' earworm. It's a goddamn banger, slaying all the way back in 2013, spawning the infamous 'Rules of Nature Goes With Everything' meme that, surprisingly enough, took Miller by surprise. Yeah, you heard me right - Miller admitted he was lost in the meme for a hot minute.
Ironically, he wasn't clued into the meme for years. As Miller confesses, "I missed it. I missed it all." The guy didn't catch wind of the meme until his name finally graced the track's credits and landed on Spotify, a good couple of years after the meme's inception. You can't make this sh*t up.
It's a bit of a hilarious situation, but it kinda makes sense given the fact that Miller was initially uncredited. Apparently, this isn't the first time something like this has happened to Miller. Seems that our fave vocalist has become accustomed to going incognito, lending his talents to other projects like the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack without anyone initially realizing it was him.
In any case, it all turns out to be just good clean fun. Honestly, I can't get enough of discovering instances where voice actors cross over different media, and it tickles me pink to see Miller seamlessly transition through various games I've fancied over the years. Even though it took me a wee bit to realize it's his voice, it's still a trip to recognize the connection.
