Merry Christmas to her! Shark Tank investor scores massive real estate win after selling beach house worth $28.5 million

Businesswoman and Shark Tank Australia investor Maxine Horne has sold her Sunshine Coast beach house for a record-breaking $28.5 million. The luxury property, named Maravilla, sits in Sunrise Beach, around 160 kilometres north of Brisbane. Horne, whose net worth is estimated at $900 million, originally purchased the vacant land for $12.5 million just two years earlier.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom home was first listed for auction on December 6, 2025, but failed to sell under the hammer. A private deal was struck later that month, securing the reported record price for the Sunshine Coast region.

Maravilla spans multiple levels, with the primary bedroom occupying an entire corner of the floor. It includes a walk-in dressing room and a spacious en suite. The open-plan kitchen and dining area flow directly onto a pool deck and a covered outdoor terrace, designed for entertaining.

Beyond the living spaces, the property boasts a dedicated wellness area. This includes a gym, spa, sauna, and change room, all overlooking the ocean. Horne, who sold her IT business Vita Group to Telstra for $110 million in 2021, also appeared in the 2024 reboot of Shark Tank Australia.

The sale marks one of the highest residential prices ever paid on the Sunshine Coast. The buyer’s identity remains undisclosed, but the deal confirms the area’s appeal for ultra-luxury real estate. Horne’s profit from the transaction follows her earlier business success and high-profile media ventures.
