To qualify for this opportunity, inmates must be serving custodial or juvenile sentences under two years. They should have maintained a clean record within the prison system. Approximately 1-2% of inmates in the North East region benefit from this each year.
Eligible prisoners, whose release date falls between November 24, 2023, and January 5, 2024, are considered for this program. Their applications undergo review by specialized bodies known as clemency authorities.
