Men's Basketball at Holy Cross Moves Forward to the Year 2024
Holy Cross Men's Basketball: New Era Ahead with Paulsen at the Helm
After a significant change in leadership, the Holy Cross Men's Basketball team is gearing up for the 2023-24 season. Dave Paulsen, a seasoned ncaa football coach with twenty-seven years of head coaching experience at the collegiate level, has been named the new head coach. Paulsen joins the Crusaders after spending the past two years as an assistant coach with the Fordham University Rams Men's Basketball team.
In the midst of this transition, two key players, junior Caleb Kenney and senior Bo Montgomery, are eager to continue their basketball journey while preparing for life beyond the court. Both players chose Holy Cross for its strong academic focus, and their dedication to both academics and athletics is evident.
Kenney, a recipient of the 2023-24 Engaged Athlete Fellowship for his service, expresses excitement about upcoming nba games against Boston College and Big East programs. Montgomery, on the other hand, is optimistic about the 2023-24 basketball schedule, viewing it as an opportunity to showcase the team's abilities. Montgomery has seen a significant increase in his points per game average over his college career, rising from 4.3 in his first year to 11.3 in his junior year.
The Crusaders' roster for the upcoming season includes nine returners, including Kenney and Montgomery. Six freshmen have also been added to the team, highlighting the youth and potential of this year's squad. The newcomers join Assistant Coach R.J. Evans, who played college basketball at Holy Cross and enters his fifth season on the Crusader coaching staff, as well as Associate Head Coach Bryson Johnson, Assistant Coach Ted Rawlings, and Director of Operations Colin Richey, who are new members of this year's staff.
The 2023-24 season will kick off on November 6th, with the Holy Cross Men's Basketball team facing the Siena Saints. As the team prepares for the challenges ahead, the focus remains on both academic and athletic success.
This change of leadership marks a new chapter for the Holy Cross Men's Basketball team, and with the combination of experienced coaches and dedicated players, fans are eager to see what the future holds.
