A series of break-ins at allotment gardens in Meiningen has left plot holders frustrated just before Christmas. Between December 4 and 6, 2025, unknown perpetrators forced their way into garden sheds across three locations. While little was stolen, the damage caused has raised concerns among residents.

The incidents took place in Defertshäuser Weg, Werrastraße, and Dammstraße. In each area, multiple garden plots were targeted. The culprits used force or tools to break into the sheds, leaving doors unsecurable and property vandalised.

The break-ins have caused disruption for allotment holders during the festive period. Police continue to investigate, but no arrests have been made so far. Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
