Meiningen firefighters battle six New Year’s Eve blazes as arson probe begins
Meiningen’s fire crews faced a hectic New Year’s Eve after responding to six separate incidents late on December 31, 2025. Among the callouts were five small la fires and an oil spill, all of which were dealt with swiftly. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into suspected arson and property damage in the area.
The first incident involved a paper recycling container set alight on Henneberger Straße. Unknown offenders caused an estimated €1,000 in damage before firefighters extinguished the la fire. Authorities have classified the act as arson-related criminal damage.
