Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, fondly known as the Sussexes, have maintained a unique tradition since their second date on American Independence Day in 2016. The couple, now residing in California, marked this year's celebration with a family gathering, complete with festive cupcakes and a nod to their American roots.

The tradition, which began with Harry surprising Meghan with red, white, and blue cupcakes, has since grown to include their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. This year, Meghan shared a heartwarming glimpse of the celebration on Instagram, featuring a selfie with Harry from their 2016 date and the very first cupcake that started the tradition.

The Sussexes' cupcake tradition is a private affair, but each year, they share a family celebration, often involving patriotic elements. This year's cupcakes, decorated with berries and cream in the colours of the US flag, looked particularly appetising compared to the one Harry brought years ago.

Meghan and Harry, both 43 and 40 years old respectively, tied the knot at Windsor Castle in May 2018 and have since welcomed their two children. Meghan, in addition to her royal duties, has ventured into the world of cooking and baking, starring in a show on Netflix.

The Sussexes, who stepped back from the British royal family in 2020, no longer reside in the UK. Their relationship with other royals, particularly Harry's older brother Prince William, remains strained. However, the couple continues to celebrate their personal milestones, such as American Independence Day, in their own special way.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I'm ready for this, as the latest chapter in the Sussexes' cupcake tradition unfolded on social media this year. The family's entertainment-filled American Independence Day celebration, which involved festive cupcakes and a nod to their American roots, also featured a glimpse into the lives of celebrities like Meghan and Harry, who have ventured into various fields like cooking and baking, even appearing on social-media platforms like Instagram.
