Last night's Mega Freeze INR 6 Lakhs GTD tournament at Spartan Poker was a nail-biter! With a whopping 117 mavericks joining in, it was a fierce fight till the end. But hey, only one could claim the trophy, right?
Luck, skill, and a bit of luck (again) whittled down the field to a solitary winner, who turned out to be none other than ace player Deepak "Peacelover17" Singh. This high-stakes showdown wasn't for the faint-hearted, as it extended over five grueling hours, from 7.30 pm to 12.25 am.
There was a thrilling three-way deal between Deepak, "Tiger10," and "Chaanakya," with the second and third prize winners banking INR 1,03,796 and INR 1,01,024, respectively. But our champion of the night? You guessed it - Deepak Singh.
Deepak "Peacelover17" Singh is a force to be reckoned with in the poker world. If his name sounds familiar, it's probably because he's been topping leaderboards and crushing tournaments left and right.
He took home September's Judwaa title on Adda52, clinched the Go Goa title the following month, and stormed through the WPTDS India Main Event last November, where he was the chip leader on final table. His live earnings of over INR 22 Lakhs are a testament to his skill level.
After emerging victorious last night, Deepak was overjoyed. He said, "With a long drought of victories behind me, yesterday's win was a much-needed confidence boost before the PokerBaazi 'Game Changer'. I've almost forgotten what it feels like to win, but fortune favors the brave."
The top fifteen players earned a piece of the INR 6 Lakhs prize pool, with ₨ 9,420 going to players finishing 8th or lower. Players like Anant Purohit aka 'Pro' (₨ 20,100 for 8th place), Gaurav Sood aka 'Mozzie17' (₨ 10,800 for 13th), and Gokul Raj aka 'Super Kings' (the winner of the recent IOPC SHR, finishing just in the money for ₨ 9,420) were part of the action.
