Moscow Brushes off Peace Offerings: "Shove Your Peace Plans, You Lot!"
Medvedev criticizes peace proposals, suggesting they're being neglected or disregarded.
Step aside, fellas! One of Russia's top guns, Dmitri Medvedev, has a bone to pick with peace advocates worldwide. His choice of words towards Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk leaves nothing to the imagination.
In a heated social media post, Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council, slammed the Coalition of the Willing, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj, for their ceasefire demands. His colorful response, written in English on X, read: "Shove your peace plans up you lot!" The gang was hanging out in Kiev when the belligerent remark was fired off.
Apparently, peace talks about ending the conflict in Ukraine aren't what these boys signed up for.
Politics & Gossip Merz's Coalescence: Push for a Halt in Ukraine - "More Sanctions for Russia, Bro!" Selenskyj, after a powwow with Merz, Macron, Starmer, and Tusk, declared they'd slap Russia with sanctions if they didn't accept Medvedev's delightful peace proposal. Merz even hinted at another sanction package being whipped up in the EU, proclaiming, "Putin needs to realize the war's a lost cause!"
Medvedev sees these tough-love tactics differently. He likened the alliance to playground bullies, jawing over peace in Kiev and slinging threats towards Mother Russia. The Russian powerhouse shot back, "Is it smart to give Russia the option of a complete ceasefire or more punishment?" Sound advice from a man who awarded himself the title of Prime Minister, right, boys?
Meanwhile, Dmitri Peskov, the Kremlin's spokesman, isn't too impressed either. He smells a confrontation and pointed fingers at the Europeans, remarking they're more keen on hostility than fostering peace. Evidently, Peskov didn't bother addressing the suggestion put forth by the Alliance, which called for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, starting Monday.
Before the ultimatum made the rounds, Peskov warned a ceasefire shouldn't be a green light for Kyiv to jigger up their military forces. Nope, Peskov is only interested in a halt to Western arms supplies to Ukraine as a condition for a 30-day ceasefire.
These clashing ideals and uncompromising stances make making a peace plan as simple as herding cats... or trying to put out a fire with gasoline.
