Primary suspect Salvador Plasencia has communicated his intention to acknowledge his guilt "in the distribution of Ketamin across four instances," as declared by the US Department of Justice. Plasencia is the fourth out of five defendants implicated in the case. A second doctor, 54-year-old Mark Chavez, had already admitted guilt in October of 2022. A fifth defendant, Jasveen Sangha, commonly recognized as the "Ketamin Queen," denies the allegations.

Ketamin, utilized by doctors as an anesthetic and for treating depression, is also traded illegally among recreational drug users due to its hallucinogenic properties.
